Non white businesses born during the apartheid era in South Africa were forced to be resilient and disciplined. It is through this hardship that the brothers became synonymous with success.

What started as a small café on Marine Drive, Manaba Beach on the South Coast of Kwa Zulu Natal has now evolved into a 4000m2 departmental store offering the highest quality of furniture imported from around the world, appliances, sports, fishing and clothing goods. The group has also diversified into many other businesses including real estate development and investments, gas/service stations, hotels, fast food franchises, restaurants, hospitals, manufacturing, agriculture and aviation.

The group also has a charitable trust wherein the brothers give back to the community and fund many welfare projects from feeding schemes to building of houses, schools and places of worship. The trust is also responsible for helping many underprivileged students get through school and tertiary education funding the entire way.

Bigen SA was established in 1991. In City Hairdressing Supplies (Pty) Ltd introduced an exciting hair colour product to the hair care market as the sole distributor of Bigen Powder Hair Dye in Southern Africa, a product manufactured in Japan by Hoyu Co. Ltd since 1905. Sold worldwide in more than 70 countries, this product has since become a name synonymous for being safe, gentle on hair and easy to use.
